Deborah Norton
Deborah Norton grew up in Central Massachusetts and spent a few weeks every summer on Cape Cod for family vacations. Little did she realize that she would someday live in this wonderful place.
“What motivates me is the challenge of capturing in landscape the essence of Cape Cod’s dramatic light and color. These are some of the most challenging and exciting paintings to me and the focus of my work.”
Deborah graduated from Connecticut College, New London, CT as a double major in both Psychology and Studio Art with an emphasis on Graphic Design. She worked as Assistant Art Director for a television station in Central Massachusetts, Art Director for a number of New England publications, serving lastly as Assistant Publisher of a media publishing group.
In 2001, Deborah and her husband moved to Cape Cod, where she took advantage of the exceptional local arts community to enhance her fine arts skills, studying with local signature artists, Rosalie Nadeau, Anne Heywood and Odin Smith.
Deborah is a member of the Creative Arts Center of Chatham and a juried artist member of the Cape Cod Art Association, as well as the Nauset Painters. She is also a member of the Bonita Springs Art Center and the Pastel Painters Society of Southwest Florida. Deborah is represented by the Eastwind Gallery, Orleans, MA.
