To me, painting is to never-ending process of learning—
Never quite reaching where I want to go, or can go. Yet, in creating I find visions I never expected.
As a fan of Mary Cassatt, who depicted her world in her time, I wonder if my plein-air paintings will endure to show the Cape Cod of my time? I hope to achieve that in my work.
When I am asked “How long have you been painting?”, I answer “Do you really care to know how old I am?”
Working in oils and watercolors, I have studied with Joe Cobb, Janet Gilmore, Marilyn Schofield, Maryalice Eisenberg and, recently with Loretta Feeney.
My paintings have been shown in many locations, ranging from the Cape Cod Art Association (I am a Juried Artist Member), the Cape Cod Conservatory and the Cultural Center to local banks, retail stores and restaurants. One of my “fish” paintings in oils was recently showcased in advertising and promotional materials for the show I was in, and was published in the Cape Week supplement of the Cape Cod Times.
