Catherine Hertz received her B.A. from the College of Mt. St. Vincent in New York City. A Fine Arts major and Education minor prepared her for many roles as teacher, business woman, mother and artist concentrating on watercolors. Painting is like singing and each of us must sing in his own voice but Catherine's teachers, including Betsy Gay, Sr. Anne Dillon, and Mel Stabin inspired her to value luminosity and to choose a realistic or impressionistic manner, according to whatever suits the subject. As an Orleans resident she paints from nature throughout the year and exhibits in regional juried shows. She had her first solo show in Pelham, NY in 1996 Catherine is a former Nauset Painter. Her work can now be seen in shows at the Creative Art Center in Chatham, at the Eastwind Gallery in Orleans and at Cape Cod Art Association in Dennis. Catherine is an artist member of the Association. |
